Every custom piece starts with the actual space measured, not a standard size assumed — the ceiling height that determines how many bunk steps fit, the wall length that decides whether storage runs floor to ceiling or stops at a window. We talk through what the space needs to do — sleep two kids, hold a household's worth of towels, hide a router and cables behind a clean face — before anything is designed.

Built-ins get anchored properly to the studs behind them, not just to drywall, because a bookshelf or a bed platform that's going to carry real weight for years needs to be attached to something that can hold it. Trim, paint and lighting get finished to match the rest of the room, so the piece reads as part of the house instead of a box that got installed into it.
